There is no group of people with quite the capacity for excusing their behavior as Christians who believe they’re right.
And there’s also no other group of people with as much responsibility to hold themselves accountable to upright behavior.
I’m sure you’ve seen “I try to be kind, but…” flowing from the fingers and lips of believers as often as I have.
But, there’s no “but”.
It doesn’t matter what you believe you’ve been “enlightened” about or how impassioned you feel about whatever theory or conspiracy or “issue” is taking precedence this week.
It does not matter how many photos you think you’ve seen of so-and-so holding their fingers or hands in such-and-such way “proving” that they worship satan or how many articles containing “research” you’ve seen about whatever agenda you believe to be THE thing that will take down this nation.
It doesn’t matter what you think others are “asleep” about or unaware of, and it doesn’t matter how very important you believe the “information” that you hold to be.
Whether what you think, believe, and feel passionate about reeks of Conspiracy of the Week or whether you have grounded observations and founded research about a topic…
The knowledge you possess will never matter as much as what you DO about it.
Even if you’re right.
If you believe that any of what you know excuses any of how you behave, then you need to spend less time on “internet research” and more time on your knees before the Throne of Grace.
There is no information, theory, conspiracy, research, fact, “Truth Bomb”, or knowledge that will ever excuse your unkindness.
Your illogical rants and your dehumanizing insults are never justifiable and they’re never becoming of the Christ you claim.
Even when your demoralizing and demonizing is clothed in “Christian-eze”, your heart is on display in your words.
(And so is your insecurity- the settled and secured don’t spend their time in witch hunts and tail spins on the internet.)
Your heart reveals itself in what you post (and repost), and your reflection of Christ will always have more impact than the information you share.
