Living List-An Ever Evolving List of Living Books

Charlotte Mason refused to make a list of living books. I humbly hesitate to take on a task that she would not complete. She believed that there were far too many books worthy to be read to compile them, and limit them, to a list. I wholeheartedly agree. She also knew that each educator herself had to be capable of, willing, and joyfully undertaking the task of choosing and reading living books for her individual born persons. I believe this to be absolutely true.

So, what follows is not a comprehensive list of living books that you should limit your readers, or yourself, to. What follows is not a complete list of every living book that is worthy to be read. What follows is not a list of every book that I love or find worthy of reading. What follows is, instead, my personal list of "must read" books for a lifetime. These are the books that I believe meet most people right where they are, and that form their thoughts and experiences.

This is a developing, evolving, ever progressing any list of living books should be. The list will be as living as the books themselves, and I hope that they serve simply and solely as a guide for you in becoming familiar with, and building a library of, living books.

**Note- Authors that I believe are worthy of reading every word penned by are listed with their name first, and a favorite book or two second. Books that I believe stand above and beyond other works by an author and are worthy to be read even if other works by the author are not, are listed with their title first and author second.
